I am often asked "How do I stop soap scum and hard water stains from building up on glass shower doors?" And my immediate response is "With a Baseball Bat!" Honestly, Glass shower doors are the bane of my existence. I cringe at the thought of fighting those tiny little scales of stains. But it is doable it just takes some elbow grease and upkeep.
The problem with removing these unsightly little white spots on your glass shower doors that just keep building up lies in identifying what causes these spots. They are caused by a combination problem of hard water and inevitable soap scum that builds us when you use your shower. So these little spots I refer to as "water scum" is a tough task for common use bathroom cleaners and/or window cleaners. Neither alone will do the trick, and together they are simply USELESS.
Some products like Scrubbing Bubbles, Bleach, Magic Erasers, Toilet bowl Cleaners, Vinegar, Lemon oil, may do the trick for upkeep or prevention. But if you have HEAVY stubborn "water scum" you may spend hours of scrubbing before you grab the baseball bat like I originally suggested and just hang a curtain to end your misery.

Or you can try some Bar Keepers Friend and a wire scouring pad.
You will still need to do some scrubbing but the result will be worth it !
Step by Step:
To Prevent "Water Scum" from building up to this level again. Use a window squeegee after each shower use, and thoroughly clean your shower doors on a regular basis.
We can of course take care of this issue for you using the aforementioned cleaning or baseball bat method.
- Apply Bar Keepers Friend liberally with a sponge.
- Allow to sit for several minutes. (if you start at the top left and work your way in small thick circles to the bottom right, by the time you finish coating the glass you can begin scrubbing)
- Using the wire scouring pad firmly scrub. Start at the top left and work your way in small thick circles to the bottom right
- Rinse with HOT Water
- Hand Dry slowly inspecting glass for any indication that you need to scrub a little more.
