However you perceive what a "cleaning service" does in a home is a matter of opinion.
So this is just my own opinion.....
A "Maid" is a direct employee of the family to whom he/she is providing service to usually paid an hourly salary. Sometimes on call to help with everyday household chores like Laundry, Dishes, Grocery Shopping, cleaning up messes left after meals, picking up toys, trash and assisting with the everyday life of their employer. A "maid" is more often referred to as a "housekeepers" as they are expected to keep the house in order and tidy.
A "House Cleaner" is provided as a contracted service, the families they provide service to are "customers" and they are invoiced for services provided. A "House Cleaner" takes care of those tedious but necessary tasks like Disinfecting bathrooms & kitchens, Changing linens, Dusting, Polishing, vacuuming & Mopping. A "House Cleaner" provide services that help keep a home and or office "CLEAN" beyond what the eye can see. "House Cleaning" is essentially an investment in protecting a home, family or office from dust & germs. These services are usually provided weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
You see there is a difference between "Maid" service and a "Cleaning Service" in terms of expectations and job descriptions.
In Complete contrast to the point .... Cleaning Without Limits is a FULL SERVICE cleaning service and we do provide some "maid" like "chores" for several of our customers during regular maintenance cleanings. But these services are offered as add-on's and are contracted.
But I guess my son was not completely incorrect, I am a "MAID" at home as I do clean up after 5 kids everyday and I am on call 24/7 to their needs and wants!
